UPDATE CONCERNING IDMISTON PARISH MEMORIAL HALL

As you are no doubt aware, the Government is easing restrictions and allowing more people to gather under new Covid19 guidelines. We, the managing committee, have studied the latest rules and taken advice from the WVHA & ACRE.  After much consideration, taking account of all the restrictions and procedures that would have to be followed, we have decided that in the interests of safety for all it is best to keep the hall closed until September.

While we understand this will be disappointing for many, to reopen in July would require a considerable amount of preparation and ongoing supervision.  As a Parish Hall we have a duty of care for all  of our users many of whom are in the older age bracket. Therefore, it is felt that this is the most sensible course of action and most importantly avoids unnecessary risk at this early stage of the easing of restrictions.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

UPDATE 21st APRIL 2020

Due to ongoing COVID-19 lockdown situation, the decision has been taken to cancel the Annual Parish (Electors) Meeting, and the Annual Meeting of the Parish Council, both due to be held on Monday 11th May 2020.

The situation is reviewed regularly, and the Idmiston Parish Council continues to work - the Clerk remains contactable via phone and email - see the details in the left hand column.

We will re-arrange the Annual Meeting of the Parish Council as soon as we can, so please check back here regularly for more updates.

JUST TO SAY...

Use of footpaths – residents are reminded and requested to keep to the designated footpaths when taking their daily exercise and/or walking their dogs.

Please do not stray onto adjacent farmland – you will be trespassing, and you could damage growing crops or frighten livestock, which will be particularly stressed if they have calves or lambs to look after. They could be aggressive as a result, and behave unexpectedly.

Keep to the social distancing guidelines, and do remember to pick up after your dogs. You can deposit the plastic bags in designated dog bins or normal litter bins provided.

Many thanks!
